Beautiful Poem

Do not stand at my grave and weep is a poem written in 1932 by Mary Elizabeth Frye.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave bereft
I am not there. I have not left.

This beautiful poem made me feel content for the ones i have lost recently and i felt like sharing.

A SOLDIER'S CHRISTMAS

A SOLDIER'S CHRISTMAS

Soldiers Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,
in a one bedroom house made of plaster and stone.

I had come down the chimney with presents to give,
and to see just who in this little house lived.

As I looked all about, a strange sight I did see,
No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.

No Stockings by mantle, just boots filled with sand,
On the wall hung pictures of far distant lands.

With medals and badges, awards of all kinds,
A sobering thought came through my mind.

For this house was different, it was dark and dreary,
The home of a soldier, I could now see clearly.

The soldier lay sleeping, silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor in this one bedroom home.

The face was so gentle, the room in such disorder,
Not how I picture a United States Soldier.

Was this the hero of whom I'd just read?
Curled up on a poncho, the floor for a bed?

I realized the families that I saw this night,
owed their lives to these soldiers who were willing to fight.

Soon round the world, the children would play,
and grownups would celebrate a bright Christmas day.

They all enjoyed freedom each month of the year,
because of the soldiers, like the one lying here.

I couldn't help wondering how many lay alone,
on a cold Christmas Eve in a land far from home.

The very thought brought a tear to my eye,
I dropped to one knee and started to cry.

The soldier awakened and I heard a rough voice,
"Santa don't cry, for this life is my choice".

I fight for freedom, I don't ask for more,
My life is my God, my country, my corps."

The soldier rolled over and drifted to sleep,
I couldn't control it, I continued to weep.

I kept watch for hours, so silent and still,
as we both shivered from the cold night's chill.

I didn't want to leave, on that cold, dark night,
this guardian of honor, so willing to fight.

Then the soldier rolled over, with a voice soft and pure,
whispered, "Carry on Santa...., It's Christmas Day...., All is secure.

One look at my watch, and I knew he was right,
Merry Christmas my friend.... and to all a Good Night.

Retrospect.

Man just seems like this year has flown by, with everything. I cant believe its already less then two weeks until Christmas. A lot of things have happened in the past year. A lot of happy moments, and some not happy at all. We got married in March, it was beautiful, the backyard was turned into a magical place. My baby sister Graduated, then grandma got sick and we lost her :( I struggled through school with the grief. Still having a hard time with it. We went to see Toby Keith in concert, with Trace Adkins & James Otto. In that same week we also saw Ted Nugent both were really cool, i was dead tired after all that. Then the unthinkable happened we lost grandma Irene to an aneurysm. Three short months after loosing Grandma Bieker we lost Grandma Irene. The family is visibly shaken up, i thank the heavens that Robert was here for me during all of this, i certainly needed him. We moved into our own apartment at the beginning of sept, and adopted two cute little black kittens. Spooky & Spunky, only a couple months apart but balls of fun for sure. Now with the year coming to a close, i am curious to find out what 2011 has in store for us.

Writing Challenge

I will continue to do it at my own pace. I have a problem with making it back to the blog everyday, i have a life that keeps me on my toes constantly. Sure hope you all understand, I mean after all i have like 4 people that read my blog. :( oh well

54 year old woman.

A 54 year old woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital.

While on the operating table she had a near death experience.. Seeing God
she asked "Is my time up?"

God said, "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days to live."

Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a
face-lift, liposuction, breast implants and a tummy tuck.

She even had someone come in and change her hair color and brighten her
teeth! Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as
well make the most of it.

After her last operation, she was released from the hospital. While crossing
the street on her way home, she was killed by an ambulance.

Arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had
another 43 years? Why didn't you pull me from out of the path of the
ambulance?"

(You'll love this)

God replied: "Shit! I didn't recognize you."

Day 10

A photo taken over 10 years ago of you
and how it makes you feel seeing it now.

This is a photo of me at 3 years of age, judging by the tile flooring and the fridge it was taken at my great grandmothers house. Seeing this photo makes me smile, because it was rare to catch a happy photo of be growing up between the ages 1-6 because of the hospital stays and the surgeries. It also makes me smile because i know that my family loves me enough to make sure i made it all these years, i know it had to have been hard. I love you all.

Day 9

I took this photo of myself on June 26 2009. I was a little tipsy and heading out to meet up with my ex.He was being such a jerk, and I was looking good and i had a feeling i wasn't going to be with him much longer, and well i wanted a photo that showed how beautiful i can be. And i was right about 2 weeks later we broke up, and i put this sexy ass photo of myself on a dating website, about 2 weeks later i met the sweetest guy in the whole wide world. Luck would have it he liked me as well. 4 months after our first date he made me his wife.

Day 8

Photo that makes me sad. I lost my grandma bieker june 6th 2010. It was the 2nd hardest day of my life. I am still struggling with her passing. But i am comforted by the knowledge that she and my grandpa are together watching over us now.

Day 7

A photo that makes you happy.

Photos of my niece Alexandra make me smile, laugh and cry all at the same time. She is such a beautiful bright young child, i cant wait to see who she grows up to be. at 3 she is taking the world by storm. Just wish i could see her more often

Day 5

Your favorite quote

"This to shall pass" is one of my favorite quotes. It is short, simple and says everything. When life keeps throwing curve balls at me, and everything just seems to not being going as planed a little part of me thinks about this quote. And how happiness is right around the corner if i only just wait and be patient it will reveal its self in due time. Seems like everything takes forever these days, and sometimes when your not paying attention to the little details, such as time, it seems to blur past you at a lightening speed that does nothing but astonish you. Today is our one year anniversary of the day we met. I remember wondering when i was going to meet someone that would change everything for me. Someone i could count on, lean on, and have forever. I dont know what i did to finally get what i wanted. All i know is i thank the heavens above and whoever is running the show every single day. Because i truly do not know what i would do with out that silly man of mine. With him by my side i do believe that we can face our obstacles together and that " this to shall pass"

Day 3 & 4

Well i missed yesterday because i was stuck at school, and busy with other things. Then i came home and watched a Robin Hood with Robert. Which was a very good movie, we did stop at my moms to wish Troy a happy birthday. So after doing all that, i spaced doing my day 3. So Samantha reminded me, i believe i will combine day 3 and 4. So tomorrow i will be back on track.

A television show has moved you.

There have been many shows that have moved me over the years, but i would have to say. Extreme Make Over : Home Edition with Ty Pennington. I love that show, how they help a worthy family by rebuilding there dreams. I have seen a lot of the episodes, and each one has touched me in a way. It has shown me there are still people in this world that care about other people. That our neighbors do value our friendship. That maybe just maybe, we have a chance in getting out of a bad situation. Just makes you feel good inside when you see a family get what they need and deserve.

Your favorite book

That would have to be, Nicholas Sparks: the Notebook. That is one of my all time favorite books. It just speaks to you, the honest love that a man has for a woman. The poetry involved with in the book is just beautiful. So before you watch the movie, that is WONDERFUL as well. Please take the time read the book. It is better.

Day 2

Favorite Movie

Ah, again with the hard questions.why ? Because i love movies, the good ones the bad ones and the strange ones. Favorite movie, well i guess the bigger question would have to be are you asking for favorite childhood movie, or adult movie? And i am not talking nasty porn im talking something with a nine year old in mind. Or maybe your asking favorite movie that has a special meaning or memory.
Favorite childhood movie is Beauty and the Beast. I have always loved that movie, from the first time i saw it, until just recently with my niece. I love Gaston getting tossed into the mud with the pigs where he belongs. And Bell with her books, i swear to this day she is the reason i read so much as a kid. But when she finally started to change the beasts heart, and they danced in the ball room. I loved how Mrs. Potts sang " Tale old as time". So with that being said, still to this day, i love the movie.

Favorite "adult" movie, I would have to say is Grumpy Old Men, I love it grouchy old dudes duking it out on the iced over pond with there fishing poles. To the new red headed neighbor they both have the hots for. The funny as hell comments from Gustafson's dad are freaking hilarious, Jack Lemmon reminds me of my grandpa. Even looks like him to. I guess i watch it because of that also.

So instead of a favorite movie i gave you all two :)

shhhhh! i have another movie playing.

Day 1

A song that reminds you of your child or that you cant listen to anymore and why.

A song that reminds me of child hood. hmm that is a tough one. I know this is gonna sounds silly but, Lynard Skynard : Sweet Home Alabama. Why, Well because i can trace just about any childhood memory back to that song. No im not from the deep south, or do i have some sick crazy obsession with the band. ( although i do love there music). I think about riding in our family's boat, cruising over the water with out a care in the world. letting it Blair for nature to hear. When i hear the first couple cords of the song, I just cant help but smile and and start to bob my head with the music. Just makes me feel great. And at the same time it is moderately bitter sweet since the i haven't had that family feeling with my dad in years. I cant actually remember what the conversation was that i had with him last where we weren't fighting or where i wasn't listening to him lie to me. It has been 2 years and 2 months since the last time i saw him in person, and its been about 2 years since we spoke. It is my only hope that where ever he is, that he is safe, and hopefully better.

where ever you are dad, please remember i love you.

Small update

Well, i went and saw the Dr. on Monday, she was able to get me in as a walk in, which was real lucky on my part, being a new patient n all. She prescribed an awesome antibiotic that will kick the hell out of the infection i have, hopefully this time next week I will be feeling back to normal, well at least as normal as i get.

As for school, so far so good, got week 2 out of the way, 9 to go, is it just me or does this year seem to be slipping by in a hurry. Just yesterday i was planning my wedding, now we are coming up on 4 months being married, wow, time sure does fly when your not paying attention..

Feeling Icky

Ok i feel like shit, and i have for days now. I should have listened to Tony and Amber when they told me to get seen by a doctor. Well lets face it everyone knows i have a fear of doctors, and the news they may or may not bring. Can i get past it long enough for them to make me feel better, yes i can. Its just the initial meeting with them that freaks me out, its so impersonal. And the likely hood of being seen by an actual doctor and not a physicians assistant is almost slim to none, the doctors only come in when its a major case, or you demand it. But sometimes i feel the P.A knows more then the doctors do, they also form a slight bond with you, because you are more likely to see them rather the doctor for each visit. All i know is i don't feel good, finally decided to let him take me to the doctor and now the truck is having issues. Its always something i tell you.

Encouragement Poem

"When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit."

Its a great day, to whoop somebody's ass

well ill be honest, i found this on my friends facebook the other day, and well it just summed up my mood earlier. : ) enjoy

Little Bruce and Jenny are only 10 years old, but they know they are in love.

One day they decide that they want to get married, so Bruce goes to Jenny's father to ask him for her hand.

Bruce bravely walks up to him and says, "Mr. Smith, me and Jenny are in love and I want to ask you for her hand in marriage."

Thinking that this was just the cutest thing, Mr. Smith replies, "Well Bruce, you are only 10. Where will you two live?"

Without even taking a moment to think about it, Bruce replies, "In Jenny's room. It's bigger than mine and we can both fit there nicely."

Still thinking this is just adorable, Mr. Smith says with a huge grin, "Okay, then how will you live? You're not old enough to get a job. You'll need to support Jenny."

Again, Bruce instantly replies, "Our allowance, Jenny makes five bucks a week and I make 10 bucks a week. That's about 60 bucks a month, so that should do us just fine."

Mr. Smith is impressed Bruce has put so much thought into this.

"Well Bruce, it seems like you have everything figured out. I just have one more question. What will you do if the two of you should have little children of your own?"

Bruce just shrugs his shoulders and says, "Well, we've been lucky so far."

Mr. Smith no longer thinks the little shit is adorable.

Three men and a genie

Three men - a Canadian farmer, Osama bin Laden and a SOUTHERN GENTLEMAN are all working together one day.
They come across a lantern and a Genie pops out of it.
'I will give each of you one wish, which is three wishes in total',
says the Genie.

The Canadian says, 'I am a farmer and my son will also farm. I want the land to be forever fertile in Canada .'

POOF! With the blink of the Genie's eye, the land in Canada was forever fertile for farming.

Osama was amazed, so he said, 'I want a wall around Afghanistan , Palestine , Iraq and Iran so that no infidels, Americans or Canadians
can come into our precious land.'

POOF! Again, with the blink of the Genie's eye, there was a huge wall around those countries.

The SOUTHERN says, 'I am very curious.
Please tell me more about this wall.'

The Genie explains, 'Well, it's about 5,000 feet high, 5oo feet thick and completely surrounds the country. Nothing can get in or out;
it's virtually impenetrable.'

The southern sits down on his Harley, cracks a beer, lites a cigar,
smiles and says,

'Fill it with water.'

Boredom

Man i miss my computer, and all my design programs. Just seems like i have nothing to do at all. Just sucks! Totally not happy with the fact i go back to school Tuesday, I didn't get to do anything on my vacation. Just makes me want to cry really. Hopefully Tony takes me somewhere for my birthday, he says he is going to, and he has for the most part kept all of his promises. I truly do love that man, sure we have our differences, but hey all couples do. And if you say otherwise your not just lying to me your lying to yourself.

Hoping when i go back to school i might actually get to hang out with a couple friends, probably wont get to but at least there is hope.
